DS video App Reviews

MP4/M4V are generally the same thing, maybe file extension is tripping some people up? I use .mp4s and no trouble streaming/downloading.

I have the same issue as all previous posts. The app will no longer download the original video as it used to. It wants to download high or medium which then wants to transcode the video, which takes longer than just downloading the original video. Come on Synology Inc. please fix the app!

This is a good app for Synology NAS user. One feature thats really needed is the ability to allow picture in picture video playback. Or at least allow multi-tasking split view. Please support that feature and the app will be much more useful on the iPad. Thank you.

The issue introduced in the previous version where m4v videos would not download appears to be fixed. Yeah! It was a long time coming but thank you for finally fixing it.

Finally MP4/m4v files play properly again. Everything seams to be working again like normal. -1 star for taking so long to get this update out.

I have synology Nas and unable to connect to my nas. This app DS Video doesnt connect. I have DS Photo and works perfectly. DS Photo no problem in connecting.

If there was a subtitle position adjustment option in the DS video for Apple TV as in the iPad version, DS video will simply be the only choice Ill make to stream video from my Diskstation.

Since the update the application does not stream video and third parties readers dont help.

Thats everything this software does, its crashing all the time...

No option to collapse lists – annoying. Keeps asking me to select subtitles – super annoying. Stream buffers too less, too slow – beyond annoying, just broken. Essentially, the app would be nice.

I love this app but I really miss to things: First, be able to download and play movies witch are not supported by the built-in iOS player. Second, be able to change and update folders on the disk station from within the app. Including searching for movie information and updating/changing them.

Videostation/DS Video works but there are many features that are just "not there". Split View on iPad, Edit-functions in the app, Picture-in-Picture. I hope for the next update.. On the photos of the Beta-version it looked like Plex :)

Wie immer super Apps von Synology. Auch wenn es offenbar nach updates mal Probleme gab. Ich kann nicht meckern, bei mir funktioniert DS Video. 3x Holz klopf

Streaming video from your iPhone or iPad is cool, but having the artwork and description automatically filled in for me is absolutely awesome! Even TV Shows, each episode from all seasons is named. This rocks!

Error_server_login_script_not_found trying to login - should at least have a useful error message instead of this...

I dont consider myself a total nube, but I couldnt get this app to work with my Synology, a NAS I use everyday and would recommend. Documentation is poor and conspicuously absent. Ive had to return to ds file, which is not designed specifically for video organization. Please create better instructions!

As long as you remember to set up the "Video Statio" on your Synology NAS, everything works well. Ill make it 5 stars when it starts supporting formats other than iTunes standard.

Works very well. Impressed how smoothly it plays back my 15gb video files.
